URGENT: Concerned Citizens Call to Action

This came over the email this morning.

Concerned Citizens and Friends:

Wednesday, 10/17, at 7:00 p.m. (City Hall) is the Public Hearing for Group Homes Moratorium Extension. The City is expected to propose 1-year extension. Please attend: Your voice is critical.

Our Position:

§ No extension beyond 90 days. Plenty of time to complete revised ordinances.

§ No more Ordinance delays. The City has used every possible excuse to obstruct and delay. City council must act: no kickback to Planning Commission.

§ Current Moratorium is Not Working. Businesses continue expansion, and more new ones. City is not enforcing compliance.

§ More over-concentration = more risk, damages. Increased problems with abatement, community impact.

§ Citizens’ Demand for good ordinances in 45 days stands, regardless of Moratorium.

§ Prevent further Institutionalization of our residential neighborhoods before it is too late.
