Bob has a wife!

Things down at City Hall haven't been the
same since old Bob Burnham retired a few years back.
Bob milked the system for a couple more years as a
transition consultant...more or less double dipping.

The rumors that Bob's wife was involved with the Rehab
houses has been around for a year or more. Bob needed
to just step up to the plate...in spite of his natural
inclination to "double dip"...and should have stated
without compunctions: "My wife is deeply involved with
the people that have those Rehab houses around here in
Newport Beach!" But, Bob's a lawyer. Unless he has
several misrepresentations going on...he doesn't feel
really comfortable. It's not all Bob's fault...he had
all those years of training with the City of Newport Beach.
Bob has been around for years! Bob is still around!
Even when he tries to remove himself from the discussion
...he has a one heck of a time! Bob just likes being
right in the middle of everything!

OK, Bob has a wife....his wife needs a job...and by golly
in this downturn economy....you just gotta take what is
available. Now you don't think that Bob's wife got that
job with the Rehab people because Bob was the old Newport
Beach City Attorney...kinda, sorta, still on the payroll?
Hey, who could tell?

The good news is that Bob "says" he is leaving! The truth
however may be very different. That we will have to see.
Surely, with all the owed favors that Bob has around town,
undoubtedly..he can get several letters from different orgs
including the Chamber of Commerce that ask him to stay, to
stick around...to not leave! He could wind up doing a Larry
Craig and just plain changing his mind....couldn't he?

Well, it's crunch time now. We want Bob's wife to step away
from her association with the Rehab houses and any principals
that own percentages and such. We want Bob, to claim he has
not been "victimized" by wild and crazy people..that don't know
him! We want Bob, to come to the next City Council Meeting
and clear the air! State his case! Tell it as it is! Vow that
without question that he will be there to fight the good fight
against expansion of John Wayne Airport...no matter what!
Thanks Bob..we needed that!

Will any of our dreams come true? About the same chance as
USC has against Arizona without Stafon Johnson and John David
Booty..we guess!

We will be rooting for both!
