Rest in Peace Gary Proctor

I didn't know former Councilman Proctor, but I sure do know many people who did.

Here's the OC Register article and the Daily Pilot article regarding his death.

And they all had good things to say about the guy.

The interesting part?

He must have kept his civic and professional lives separate because most of the attorneys I know (who live in Newport Beach) had no idea that he was a Councilman representing their City.

At least not until his resignation from the City Council in 2003.

But that's how Local Politics are.

Even the OC Register article only gives him one sentence regarding his Civic service.

All the rest was about his lawyering prowess.

Everyone knew him as a great guy and a great attorney.

Mr. Proctor, I hope you find the peace in death that you could not find in life.
