No Real Inspiration

Perhaps I'm getting a big jaded, or the Newport related stories are getting slow, or perhaps I'm ceasing to care, but here are some of the stories from the Daily Pilot:

Marine Memorial Still Debated
Why is there a discussion or debate about a monument to the young men and women who are sacrificing their lives so that people can argue about too many monuments on their trees? If there are "already at least a dozen trees with memorial plaques," that is not nearly enough. Unlike the Sober Living Homes, I don't think that there could ever be too many memorial plaques for those who give the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Don't understand the fuss on this one.

Annexation Discussion Troubles Residents

Ok. Like a Councilwoman Daigle opinion piece, I lost interest halfway through.

City to Spend $1.8 Million to Move Marinapark Residents.
Not surprised. It costs money to get rid of Mobile Home residents off of waterfront locations. The chickens came home to roost on this one as Steve Sutherland's lawsuit will also get settled for a large undisclosed amount of dough too. The Tod Ridgeway led City Council tried to slip a fast one past the voters, Greenlight turned it away, and now the City will have to pay for jumping the gun. Funniest part of this article is, "If the city is not ready to proceed with the park by September 2009." That's funny. I'll bet that the City won't be ready to proceed with the park by September 2019...
