County Treasurer Chriss Street 30 Day Reprieve

If you follow the other blogs, by now you know that County Treasurer/Tax Collector Chriss Street was given a 30 Day Reprieve from the County Board of Supervisors, and Supervisor John Moorlach, of stripping his Investment powers. OCRegister.com's Total Buzz (how Blognetnews.com keeps Total Buzz off of it's Most Influential List is perplexing to me) did a GREAT job in covering today's meeting.

There was a great comment on the OCBlog.net, which I kinda agree with, saying, "I got the sense that this 30 day "cooling off" period was really just a way for Supervisor Moorlach to save face," considering it was Supervisor Moorlach who was really out front on this one, truly gunning for Chriss. Because all of these accusations against Chriss never really had to do with his job as the County Treasurer/Tax Collector, there was really no reason to strip him of his investment duties. Especially after Orange County Auditor-Controller David Sundstrom's piece in the OC Register this past weekend.

This was the safe, and best, move to make. In 30 days, everyone will have forgotten about this.
