Daily Pilot/Dave Ellis Lovefest

This one was pretty interesting to follow...

In today's Daily Pilot, Alicia Robinson writes about how Senator Fred Thompson's entry in the GOP Presidential race now gives Newport Beach political consultant extraordinaire David Ellis something to do. I'm not too sure why Daily Pilot readers would care about that, but I clicked on this website and found something interesting.

Dave Ellis is working on raising money for Senator Fred Thompson, but his wife and him have already contributed a fair sum to Former Governor Mitt Romney back in February. A look on FEC.gov website also confirms it.

Considering that Sen Fred Thompson didn't officially discuss his intentions until March 11, 2007 and didn't open up his exploratory committee until June 1, 2007, the Ellis family contributions were before Sen Thompson got involved.

But it's still funny nonetheless.
