No Keith Curry?

A mailer (my scanner is acting up right now, so I'll post it later...) was sent out from the Councilman Steve Rosansky camp which talks about his involvement with the Rehab Homes in an effort to refute Newporters for Ethical Government's claims.

Well...Newporters for Ethical Government must be happy today because it seems as though Councilman Rosansky has been taken off his game plan.

And frankly, I'm really surprised that his political consultant is letting him do that.

Councilman Steve Rosansky is the incumbent City Councilmember.

With just that, all he should be doing is touting how great the City is.

How great Newport Beach is doing.

How it can afford to pay for the White Elephant.

How strong our Newport Beach economy is doing (with a budget which borrows millions and millions to balance it).

ALL HE SHOULD BE DOING IS ASSOCIATING HIMSELF WITH HOW GOOD THE CITY IS DOING!

Instead, he feels like he has to respond to the Hit Pieces (here and here) sent out by Newporters for Ethical Government.

And he's wasting his money doing it.

Consider this, he only raised $28k as of September 30, with cash on hand of only $17k.

And each of these mailers usually cost between $10k and $20k depending on how large his mailing universe is.

Best case scenario? He's spent $20k for the two mailers.

So unless he's loaned his campaign some serious money, with the two mailers sent out this past weekend, he's out of money.

And out of future mailers.

That is...unless...he's willing to have an Independent Expenditure Committee (like the Fire Union did - see the irony?) help him out.

Anyway, on this latest mailer (again, sorry I'll post it later) is a letter talking about the "Smear Mailer." and is signed by Newport Beach's Councilmembers.

But there's one Councilmember's signature who is glaringly missing.

Councilman Keith Curry's.
