Last Monday evening, my wife and I hosted about 30 citizens in Newport Heights at our home, for a lengthy townhall discussion with Denys Olberman, head of Concerned Citizens and a leader in the effort to deal with the Group Home disaster in Newport Beach. The Heights now joins hundreds of Newport residents from the peninsula, Lido Isle, and CDM who are already working towards solutions and pressure in this surreal situation. Kudos to Denys for her work, and kudos to the Heights (of which I am a proud resident) for picking up the flag. We all need to band together to hold the council accountable, and to fight for what logical and ethical people know ought to be the end run - safe neighborhoods that obey the language of the law.
