Better Late Than Never?

I've always been one to not criticize a positive action, at least I've made every attempt to do so...however...

In today's Daily Pilot is a follow up article to this story, regarding the City getting ready to sue Rehab/Sober Living Home operators for violating the Moratorium.

Here are some quotes from our Newport Beach City Councilmembers:

“The council is serious about enforcing this moratorium,” Mayor Steve Rosansky said. “Warnings have already been sent out.”

and

“We’re going to defend and enforce the moratorium against all who are in violation against it,” Councilwoman Leslie Daigle said.

That's some serious tough talk...finally.

Couple of questions...:

1. Why has it taken this long to finally take action against these Rehab Homes? There are only 100-150 (depending on who you speak to) ON THE BALBOA PENINSULA ALONE!

2. WHY HAS IT TAKEN THIS LONG TO FINALLY TAKE ACTION AGAINST THESE REHAB HOMES!!!!???

Ok, I guess I only had one question.

I sure hope that once tougher ordinances are put in place will this "tough" enforcement will continue.
