How To Get People To Work For Your Internet Business For Free

By Nick Bayley, CEO, MYeMetrics

Imagine if you had hundreds or even thousands of people working for your Internet business for free.  Sound far fetched?  Sound impossible?  It’s not, and I’m going to explain why in this article - so keep reading.

Now when I say free, I don’t mean in the traditional sense.  People are being paid for the work they do, but in affect it’s free and here’s why.

Imagine a big corporation like Microsoft with thousands of employees.  Do they pay each of their employees?  I hope so.  But then do they make more profit than the money they pay there employees.  Of course they do.  They have a massive profit every year.

So if you take the massive profit and take away the employee expenses in affect the employees are working for free.  Because it’s only through the employees that the company is as big and as successful as it is.

Here’s the point in all of this.  The employees as a big group will be paid less than what they make for the company.  So effectively they are working for free.

It’s a mindset shift, and a very important one if you want your Internet business to grow.

Here is how this works.  Let’s say you have a job that you don’t particularly like doing, and we’ll say it’s customer support.

Now let’s say you hire someone to do the customer support for you and you pay them $15 per hour.  They work 5 hours a week and so you pay them $75 per week.

So how are they working for you for free in that case?

Easy, that’s saved you 5 hours per week. And IF you spent that 5 hours per week creating new products that would easily mean that person is working for free.

Every job you outsource or choose to hire someone you must be thinking about how that person is going to pay for themselves and more.  If you look at hiring like this it won’t seem so daunting, plus you’re more than likely to hire slow and fire fast.

That is what you must do.  Be careful who you hire if they are going to have a big impact on your business.  If the job is something small then it’s not so much of a big deal. But if the job is crucial one (like a project manager) then you definitely want to make sure you hire the right person the first time.

But if you want to do this you must know your website metrics.  You must know how much growth your employees or contractors are helping your website to improve.  So you must test and track everything.  Most website owners do not do this because it’s time consuming, tedious and boring and as a result they leave a lot of money on the table.  But now there’s a “done for you” solution for testing and tracking.
