Well...It's Not MY Money...

This morning had this article in the Daily Pilot about the just-under $1 million bucks already spent on this "Necessary" New City Hall. Yes, I know, I know...locations have been argued, the need has been discussed, Tsunamis and Earthquakes have been discussed, Debra Allen's home address has been discussed, and this discussion has cost the City $856,847. All the while, more City employees have been added to the City's payroll, more pension liability (do I sound like a broken record?), and another $313,000 was spent on 3 mobile homes on the City Hall lawn to "house city workers who don't fit in the existing buildings anymore." I have an idea...well...nevermind...most of the kids today don't even know what a broken record is.

The best part of the article?

"But the money spent to study whether to raze or remodel city hall at its current address may not be wasted after all.

Rosansky said there hasn't been any serious discussion about what to do with the property where City Hall is now if it's relocated, and he and Curry — who disagree on which Newport Center site is best — both said the winds could shift again.

"If we continue to have gridlock on Newport Center, it could come back into play," Curry said."

Can you imagine all the mayhem if the City Council members (just the Conservative ones, of course...) put the original City Hall location back into play? Oh boy...I think the City Council gadflies would riot and riot.
