Indict This!

It's all over the Internet (which the Daily Pilot says you shouldn't trust...), the newspapers, and the morning news (click here, here, here, here and here for some easy reading...).

Sheriff Mike Carona has been indicted on Federal Corruption Charges.

Oops.

I wonder what actions County Supervisor John Moorlach, and the rest of the Board of Supervisors will/can take, considering that Moorlach tried to quickly neuter for former protege County Treasurer Chriss Street will less than a Federal/FBI-led indictment.

Sheriff Carona has always been a friend, even endorsing this over-inflated ego in my ill-fated City Council run, but this is a tough one.

He's always been involved with many philanthropic events, riding his motorcycle for the Annual CHOC X-Mas Harley ride, or serving on many boards of directors for very charitable foundations.

And he's a good guy.

But, anyway you look at this, anyway you try to spin this (I'm particularly interested to see Jon Fleischman's take on this on his Flashreport.org, as Sheriff Carona's former PR guy.), anyway you read it, it's pretty bad.
