Classic Face Pack Remembered {DIY}

Ok, so, I am not sharing anything new today. But, just reminding you all of the classic face pack which costs a zilch and the results are far better than any pricy product and this one has the simplest of the ingredients and is an answer to almost all the skin problems.

Ingredients
  • Multani Mitti
  • Curd / Yogurt
Method
Mix them both and apply the pack on the face. Wait for it to dry. It might take long time, though but the wait is worth it. So, try this on a day when you can laze around. In the mean time, keep two chilled tea bags with you and apply them to your eyes and relax. After the mask gets dry, wash it off and rinse your face with green tea (warm or cold, anything).

Results
A really fresh, hydrated and supple skin is revealed. It brightens the complexion in an instant, controls oil production and removes the dead skin cells. Multani mitti is great for oily skin and curd is great for troubled skin. But, this mask doesn't dry the skin at all. But, if you have dry skin, make sure to include honey as a precaution. But, even dry skin people should use clay masks once in a while coz it detoxifies the skin. So, a face pack which answers all the troubles of your skin and this can be done every alternate day by oily, combination and normal skin people and once in a week by dry skin gals (or guys!!!).

Face pack for Blemished Skin {DIY}

Ingredients
  • Tomato juice
  • Sandalwood Powder
Method
Mix them both in a bowl and apply on face and neck. Regular usage would help in the brightening of the skin, removes the tan and also the blemishes and dark spots on the skin. This face pack can be used everyday too. Tomato juice is mild enough and doesn't cause photo-sensitivity like citrus fruits. Sandal wood helps with acne and pimples too and controls the oil production in the skin.
Results
A smooth fresh skin is revealed. It makes the skin supple and brightens the complexion. A good face pack to use before an outing.

Himalaya Refreshing Fruit Pack {Product Review}

Ok, so this one has papaya and apple.

Price: 60 INR for 50gms

Ingredients

My Experience
It smells the same but a little toned down just like the Walnut scrub. You can definitely feel something has changed in the product. It is creamy and spreads easily. No problems in that. The color resembles the inner core of papaya :) It dries off easily in 15-20 minutes and removing it with a sponge is not difficult as it is not like a clay mask which hardens.

The first thing you will notice is a fresher skin immediately. It does remove the dullness of the skin. It is moisturizing I guess because my skin doesn't feel stretchy or dry after removing it (some clay masks do that). It does have mineral clay but not more in quantity I guess coz the hardened mask doesn't feel tight or anything. Sometimes, you really need to check if the complete mask has dried. Using the clay based masks make you do that. It doesn't give any toned look to the skin but just makes it fresher. Though it is for normal to dry skin, it worked well for my combination skin too. Oil production is controlled enough for the time being so it is a good mask to use if you are going somewhere.

My Recommendation
A good and economical face pack.

PS: Product sent by the brand for consideration.

Banjara's Kasturi Turmeric Herbal Powder

I had written about Kasturi Turmeric long back and in my quest for finding Kasturi Tumeric, I came across Banjara's Herbals brand. Consequently, I bought the Kasturi Turmeric Herbal Powder they were offering. So, here is my review of the product.

My experience with the product

I had used it long back so I do not have pics but it looks similar to the regular haldi we use at home. But, when I used it, it left my face so yellow that I had to wash my face twice with a face wash after using the mask. And, the products stings as opposed to the tingling sensations felt when using herbal products. And, then after washing off, it leaves my face completely raw.

My efforts to better the product
To avoid the yellow coloration of my face after using this herbal powder, I mixed a little of it with my regular homemade besan ubtan. Guess what, it turned the complete ubtan into yellow and still managed to make my face discolored.
I even tried mixing it with sandalwood and multani mitti and then applying on the face but that also did not work.
After so many efforts went fluke, I compared it with the regular turmeric and I somehow have a sneaking suspicion that this herbal powder is not exactly herbal but probably has a yellow color mixed in some powder. So, right now, I have mixed the powder with sandalwood powder and multani mitti and am using it as a scrub instead of a face pack.

My Opinion
My strong suggestion is that do not buy this product. It is just 35-40 INR. Not at all costly but completely useless product. In case you come across this product, just give it a go.

Oat meal face pack

A very Happy Friendship's Day to you all!!
Today, I would be sharing with you a simple face mask recipe made from oats. The oats which we eat are equally good for our skin. They provide smoothness and suppleness to the skin.
  • Mix a handful of oats in honey and use it to cleanse your skin.
  • Indulge in oat bath. Put a handful of oats in a muslin or cheesecloth and tie it. Put the cloth under running water in the bath tub. The water would turn milky in texture. After filling your tub, you can use the cheesecloth as a sponge to cleanse your body.
  • Prepare a face mask of oats by grounding them and mixing them with milk.
Voila! Your skin would turn soft as a baby's bottom. Go on and enjoy these face masks.

Get a glow you deserve {DIY}

I am posting here a recipe for a homemade face mask. It must be prepared fresh every time as it contains fruits and should not be stored.

Ingredients:
- 1 very ripe banana
- 1 cup milk / yogurt / milk cream
- 1 cup warm honey

Mash the banana and blend all the ingredients to make a smooth puree. Apply the puree onto your face. You can apply some 5 layers. Make sure that the mask is thick and does not drip. Keep it on for 15-30 minutes. Remove the mask with help of a wash cloth. Wash your face number of times with water of varying temperature. Pat dry and moisturize. Your skin would be smooth, supple and glowing. You can add various other ingredients as per your choice.
