Short Bit Torrent Tutorial

Bit Torrent Tutorials

Of the first things you need to know about using Bit Torrent:

- Bit Torrent aimed at broadband users (or better than any dialup connection).

- Sharing is highly appreciated, and sharing is what keeps alive Bit Torrent.

- Bit Torrent files (*. torrent) contains information on the structure of the workload

- The method of downloading is not your ordinary kind of download. If the download does not come as a

piece, you can download many at the same time to increase your download speed. It can not be

100 "pieces" of a file, or 20,000 pieces + all depends on what you download. The pieces are generally small (less than 200 kb)

- The speeds are based on people sharing as a download, and drills. Seeders are people who constantly

Share to hold on to the streams. Usually seeders are quick links (10 MB or higher).

This tutorial describes using Bit Torrent client called Azureus. This client is used to decode the files. Torrent in a usable format to download from peers. From there, I will refer to Bit Torrent as BT.

As a customer of BT you use is entirely up to you. I tried everything, and my favorite is Azureus for many reasons. A major problem with most BT clients out there, that they are very CPU intensive, usually using 100% of your CPU power throughout the process. This is the number one reason I use Azureus. One was recently released plug-in that allows you to browse all the files being listed on suprnova.org (the # 1 source for downloading torrents).

Before using the plug-in, take a look at / http://www.suprnova.org and browse the files. Hold your mouse over the link and you will find all files ending in. Torrent. This is the BT file extension. Usually. Torrent files are very small, under 200kb. They contain a wealth of information on the file you want to download. Torrent file A. may contain only a single file or a folder full AA multiple files and folders. But regardless, every download is split into hundreds or thousands of parts. The pieces make it much easier to download at higher speeds. Back to suprnova.org. Look at the columns:

Date Added | Name | Size | Semi | (. And those few who are not very useful) DL

I will break.

Added: Self explanitory, the date has been added to the stream.

Name: self-explanitory.

File Size: Duh

Seeds: This is strictly how many people are downloading or sharing. These people are those who keep the files. Torrent alive. By "alive", ie if there is no file sharing. Torrent, you can download.

DL: The number of people currently downloading that particular torrent. They also help keep the stream of life as they share while they download.

It 's always better to download torrents that have a fair amount of Seeders and downloader, so you can be sure there is a good opportunity to hold office until the end. The more the better.

Now you should understand how torrent files works, and how to use on Azureus!

First, get JAVA! You need this to run Azureus, as java is what powers. Download Java here: / http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html

Next, get Azureus at: / http://azureus.sourceforge.net

Next Suprnovalister plugins from / http://s93732957.onlinehome.us/storage/suprnovalister.jar

Install Java JRE before you do anything.

Install Azureus, and then the installation folder, create two more folders. . / Plugins / suprnovalister (for example, if you installed Azureus to C: \ Program Files \ Azureus to create the folder C: \ Program Files \ Azureus \ plugins \ SUPRNOVALISTER). So, put the suprnovalister.jar downloaded into that folder.

Maximum amount of Azureus, and if you want to go through the settings and customize it.

The tab "My torrents" is the section of Azureus you need it most. That lists all your transfers, uploads and downloads. It shows every bit of information you could possibly want to know that you download torrents.

In the menu bar, go to View> Plugins> Suprnova lists. This will open a new tab in Azureus. Click on "Update Mirror". This will have a mirror site suprnova.org torrent containing all the files currently available. When a mirror is grabbed, choose a category from the drop-down list on the left and click "Update". Wah-lah, all the available downloads appear to be mainly the diagram above. Just double click a download you want, and bang its starting to download. Open "My Torrents" tab again to see and make sure your download.

When the download is complete, it would be nice, and let the transfer stream. So people can get pieces of the file you need, as you have pieces from other people.

Alternatively, if you do not want to use the plugin ... you can just head suprnova.org and download files to any folder. Then go to File - Open. Torrent file from Azureus.

This should wrap it in a tutorial of Bit Torrent.
