We’ve all seen those late night infomercials promising loads of money just there for the taking. The concept of going to bed and waking up the next morning rich just seems a little too good to be true. Those mail order businesses are a thing of the past. However, passive online income is a reality for many people who’ve made the internet their full time employer. A number of people pursue multiple streams of passive income online and build consistent wealth over time. Interested in knowing what some of these people do?
• Online writing: Several writers have gravitated to the numerous online sites that offer consistent revenue. There are typically two types of payment methods. One is upfront payments where the writer is paid for the article immediately. The other is where the writer earns a passive income by page views or by the number of times readers click on the accompanying ads. Most writers opt for the opportunity to earn money over time and therefore go with the pay per view or pay per click option. Typically sites share 50% of the ad revenue with the writer.
• Blogging: Want to have something to call your own? Interested in having a running journal of your thoughts and knowledge for the entire world to see? Most people who make a living online earn the majority of their revenue from blogging. There are multiple ways to earn money through a blog. Much like those writers who earn money every time someone clicks on an ad in their articles, bloggers earn money the same way. However, in the case of bloggers, they don’t have to share 50% of the revenue. They keep all of it!
• Affiliate programs: As mentioned, there are several ways to make money from blogging. One is through ad click revenue and another is from affiliate programs. What are affiliate programs you ask? These are programs where either a website or a blog promotes and sells a company’s products for them. Each time a sale is made the company pays the owner of the blog a commission on the sale.
• E-books and information packages: Yet another stand alone product or one that can be added to a blog. E-books are nothing more than electronic books, hence the name E-book. Any topic that one might find in a regular book can be covered by an E-book. Several blogs offer E-books for their readers to purchase directly, while others sell E-books through hosting websites. There is large competition online for E-books as well as an equally large demand. Amazon’s Kindle and Sony’s Reader are the most common portable E-book readers available in the market today. Everyone has a story to tell and anyone can write an E-book.
Whether you are interested in earning some extra money, or want to protect yourself incase of a job loss, passive online income is a definite possibility. It takes both time and patience and a lot of hard work. People do it everyday and you can to.
